New England Shidokan Karate was founded by Sensei Jay Brousseau in 2008 to be the ultimate family karate dojo (school).  Since that time, Sensei Jay's sister, Sensei Sarah Brousseau, joined the team and together they have made New England Shidokan the premier dojo that it is today.  With a combined 67 years of traditional Okinawan Karate experience, they are dedicated to giving you and your family the best and most comprehensive martial arts experience available.  You and your family will be expertly guided on your own path to Black Belt and beyond.  At New England Shidokan you will learn true karate which is more than just the moves.  You will be taught Okinawan culture, history, basic Japanese language, and values.  Each class will build respect, discipline, focus, and confidence.  You and your family will improve your physical fitness, coordination, and gain valuable self-defense skills, all while working towards attainable goals that provide that all important sense of achievement.

Here at New England Shidokan we live by the motto of Friendship, Cooperation, and Learning.  You will never be just a number.  Personal attention is given to all of our students and no one is ever left behind.  When you join us you become a member of our New England Shidokan Family.

At New England Shidokan Karate we learn, train, and teach, Okinawan Shorin-ryu Shidokan Karate-do under the direction of Sensei Seikichi Iha, 10th Dan Grand Master and president of the Beikoku Shidokan Karate-do Association.  What does this mean for you? It means that you are learning a true traditional style of karate that can trace its lineage back centuries, offering you a better value than you will find at many of the other karate schools that make it up as they go along.  The Beikoku Shidokan Association consists of more than 30 dojo's throughout the world and is formally recognized by the Okinawan Shorin-ryu Karate-do Association.  For more information about our style
